Chicken liver pepper fry

A spicy Kerala delicacy made out of very few ingredients, all of which can be picked from your counter right away. Its very easy to cook yet very tasty and a favourite for those spice lovers.




Ingredients

  • Chicken liver : 500 gms
  • Onion : 1 medium
  • Tomato : 1 small
  • Garlic paste : 1 tsp
  • Pepper powder : 11/2 tsp ( Coarsely ground)
  • Whole red chilli : 2 nos
  • Salt
  • Oil : 3 tbsp

Method

  1. Heat oil in a kadai and add the red chillies once the oil is hot and allow to splutter
  2. Saute the cubed onions till translucent and add the garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes
  3. Add the tomato and cook till oil separates
  4. Add the cleaned liver and 1 tsp of pepper powder and salt and  mix well
  5. Add little water and cook for 10 minutes.
  6. Once the liver is cooked and soft add the remaining half teaspoon of pepper powder and stir well
  7. Once the spices are well mixed switch off flame and serve hot as an appetizer or side dish with roti or rice of your choice
