Chicken wings in hot garlic sauce
Chicken wings are liked by both the small and big at home. This is my version where I deep fried the wings after coating them in flavoured flour and then tossed them in a sticky honey- garlic sauce. Try and let me know if you liked it.
Ingredients
For the chicken
- Chicken wings cut into two pieces : 500 gms
- All purpose flour : 4-5 Tbsp
- Pepper powder : 1 tsp
- Salt to season the flour
For the sauce
- Garlic : 5-6 cloves
- Onion : 1 small finely diced
- Tomato ketchup : 1/3 cup
- Hot sauce of your choice : 2 tbsp
- Soya sauce : 1 tbsp
- Chilli sauce : 1 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce : 1/2 tsp (optional)
- Honey : 3/4 tsp
- Chicken stock powder or 1 cube
- Water : 1/3 cup
- Corn flour slurry by mixing 1 tbsp corn flour in 2 tbsp water
Method
- Prepare the flour by adding all dry ingredients
- Coat the wings very well by putting the wings into the flour mixture and pressing well with hands
- Let it rest for half an hour and let the chicken absorb the flour. Deep fry the chicken pieces for 10-12 minutes in medium heat
- Add 2 tbsp oil to another pan and add finely chopped garlic and before it changes colour add the onions and saute for 2 min
- Add all the sauces and honey and chicken stock cube and mix well
- Add water and mix
- Add the slurry and cook till desired consistency ( 2 mins stirring will give the correct consistency)
